Where to find the correct rule for your medicine and formulation.

The rule depends on the formulation

Pens, vials, and other formulations can have different conditions, even within a brand. Official information distinguishes the product before and after first use. Copying another person’s timeframe or a different formulation’s rule can lead to an incorrect decision.

Refrigeration is not freezing

The information for the cited injectable formulations warns against freezing and gives specific protection and temperature conditions. Read the storage section of the manufacturer’s leaflet. Do not assume that cooling again restores a product kept outside its permitted conditions.

When unsure, bring the details

For travel, a power outage, or possible heat exposure, have the packaging, formulation, opening date, and details of what happened ready. A pharmacist or manufacturer can advise using that information and the specific leaflet. An app’s expiry date does not establish product stability.
